當前，和全人類正面臨著一些共同的健康挑戰，例如亞健康的生活方式所引起的疾病日益流行、衛生保健費用難以負擔、各主要經濟體即將先后進入老齡化社會等。世界衛生組織在《迎接世紀挑戰的報告》中指出，世紀的醫學不應該繼續以疾病作為主要研究領域，應當以健康作為醫學的主要研究方向。醫學目的從治人的病轉向治病的人，從重視疾病轉向生存質量。由此可見，傳統醫學在提供衛生保健方面的價值日益增長，推動中醫藥走向世界，需要國際合作協力共進。中醫藥傳播遍及183個國家和地區、海外建立的中醫藥中心已有10個，中醫藥事業已成為中國與開展人文交流、促進東西方文明互鑒的重要內容。世界衛生組織統計數據顯示，目前103個會員國認可使用針灸，其中29個設立了傳統醫學的法律法規，18個將針灸納入醫liao保險體系。中醫藥在常見病、多發病、慢xingbing及疑難病癥、重大傳染病防治中的作用得到進一步彰顯，得到國際社會廣泛認可。

At present, all mankind are facing some common health challenges, such as the increasing prevalence of diseases caused by the sub-health lifestyle, the unaffordability of health care costs, and the imminent entry of major economies into an aging society. In its Report on Meeting the Challenges of the Century, the World Health Organization pointed out that the medicine of the century should not continue to take disease as the main research field, but should take health as the main research direction of medicine. The purpose of medicine is from treating human diseases to treating people, and from valuing diseases to quality of life. Thus, the increasing value of traditional medicine in providing health care, and international cooperation are needed to promote TCM worldwide. TCM has spread to 183 countries and regions and has 10 overseas TCM centers. TCM has become an important part of conducting people-to-people exchanges with China and promoting mutual learning between eastern and Western civilizations. According to the World Health Organization, 103 member States currently recognize acupuncture, of which 29 have established laws and regulations on traditional medicine and 18 incorporate acupuncture into the medical liao insurance system. The role of TCM in the prevention and treatment of common diseases, frequently-occurring diseases, slow xingbing diseases, difficult diseases, and major infectious diseases has been further highlighted, and it has been widely recognized by the international community.
